Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has dropped a huge hint regarding Emre Can’s future at the Merseyside club.
The German tactician was speaking ahead of today’s Premier League clash with Southampton. The fixture takes place at the St Mary’s stadium while kick-off is scheduled for 16:30 (GMT).
Can has been heavily linked with a move to Serie A giants Juventus in recent months. The Italian club’s CEO Bebbe Moratta has even confirmed his clubs interest in the 24-year-old.
The Germany international has entered the final four months of his contract and could end up leaving for free over the summer unless a new deal can be agreed.
However, Klopp has poured cold water over reports stating that Juve have struck a deal with Emre Can.
The German tactician has even suggested that Can could now remain at Liverpool rather than seal a move to the Serie A.
“No. He didn’t come in my office and say so. Nothing new about that,” Klopp was quoted as saying by CalcioMercato.
“I think everything is possible, but there’s nothing else to say about it.
“There’s no decision made, otherwise we would have said.”
Meanwhile, RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita is set to join Liverpool in the summer.
