Galatasaray Forfeit UEFA Youth League Game Against Anderlecht [divider]
UEFA have charged Galatasaray for crowd disturbances in the UEFA Youth League game against Anderlecht.
The statement read:
“The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) has taken the following decision:
Match: UEFA Youth League group D, RSC Anderlecht Youth vs. Galatasaray AŞ Youth played on 25 November in Belgium.
Galatasaray AŞ Youth:
Charges: Setting off throwing of fireworks and objects – Art 16 (2) (b) & (c) of UEFA Disciplinary Regulations; Illicit banner – Art 16 (2) (e) DR; Match abandoned – Art 21 (1) DR
Sanctions: The match is forfeited by Galatasaray AŞ Youth and a 3-0 win is awarded to RSC Anderlecht Youth. The club has also been fined €25,000.”
Galatasaray finished UEFA Youth League Group D in third place on six points after losing 3-1 to Arsenal on matchday six.
