The 25-year-old has started in the Reds last 16 matches and has established himself as a key player in Rodgers’s three-man defence.
Dejan Lovren could replace Sakho but he has only recently recovered from injury, Glen Johnson also could fill in for the powerful defender.
Rodgers could play a back-three comprising of Kolo Toure, Martin Skrtel and Lovren.
Emre Can who has been playing as a make shift defender could be moved into midfield as Rodgers will also be without Steven Gerrard, Lucas Leiva and Jordan Henderson.
Liverpool won the first leg at Anfield 1-0 and will now take on Beşiktaş in Istanbul at the Atatürk Olympic stadium.
