Newcastle Reveal Squad Ahead Of Man City Clash, Rising Star Does Not Make The Cut
Newcastle United take on Manchester City attempting to end their 17 match win streak.
The Magpies will welcome back midfielder Jonjo Shelvey who returns from suspension.
The Welsh midfielder missed the 1-0 loss to Arsenal and the 3-2 victory at West Ham on Saturday after picking up his second red card this season against Everton.
Shelvey has made the squad but midfield duo Mikel Merino and Isaac Hayden, who sat out against the Hammers due to injury are doubts.
Despite facing injury concerns with his midfielders head coach Rafa Benitez has yet again opted to leave Dan Barlaser out of the squad.

The 20-year-old had been included in the provisional squad earlier on in the season but has struggled to make the cut since.
The midfielder has four assists and 15 appearances in all competitions for the reserve side.
The rising star has yet to feature in a Premier League game this season.
Barlaser was born in Newcastle but can represent both England and Turkey at international level.
Head coach Rafa Benitez will also be without full-back Jesus Gamez (ankle surgery) and striker Aleksandar Mitrovic (back).
