Pandev has a role to play at Galatasaray says Hamzaoglu [divider]

Galatasaray manager Hamza Hamzaoğlu believes Goran Pandev still has a place in his team and expects him to play a bigger role as the season progresses.

“Pandev is an important member of this team like everybody else,” Hamzaoğlu said.

“God willing he will prove himself tomorrow once again and inspire the younger members of the team. 

“I hope he will regain match fitness, we are introducing him back into the team, there is no doubting his quality he just needs to regain match fitness.”

Pandev scored a hat-trick in the last Turkish Cup game against Balçova.

Hamzaoğlu also urged his younger players to prove themselves against Diyarbakır in the Turkish Cup.

“We aim to do well in the Turkish Cup,” Hamzaoğlu said.

“We need to win tomorrows game and I am hoping the players I will be giving a chance take this opportunity to prove themselves.”

Galatasaray take on Diyarbakır in Group G of the Turkish Cup on Tuesday.
