Manchester United were heavily linked with a move for Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil in recent weeks.
However, the 29-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a new three-year deal with the north London based club.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils did not table and offer for the 29-year-old nor were talks held between the two parties.
Per the source, Jose Mourinho felt that he had more than enough options in attack, especially after the signing of Alexis Sanchez.
Furthermore, both Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata have signed new deals with the Red Devils.
“I think in attack it’s very difficult for us to improve. Where are we going to get a better combination of players than we have?” Jose Mourinho stated earlier this week at a press conference.
The MEN also states that Ozil is happy with life in London and that the playmaker is desperate to win more silverware at the north London based club.
Arsenal take on Everton in the Premier League this weekend as they look to return to winning ways. Meanwhile, Man United host Huddersfield at Old Trafford as they look to bounce back from a defeat at the hands of Tottenham.
