Arsenal fans were delighted when the news of Mesut Ozil’s new contract dropped.
The 29-year-old is reportedly penned a three-and-a-half year deal and is earning £300,000 per week.
However, according to the Times, there is growing unrest at Arsenal due to the growing pay divide among players.
Up until the January transfer window, the Gunners had a wage structure in place which has been deemed fair among their squad.
However, the arrivals of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, as well as Ozil’s new deal, appear to have upset the apple cart.

Mkhitaryan reportedly earns £200,000 a week, while striker Aubameyang in on £180,000 a week.
Per the source, the latest set of contracts and deals have lead to resentment among several members of the squad.
The Times goes onto state that the big-money contracts handed out in January have made negotiating Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey’s contracts a challenge for the club.
