The Turkey national team are back in action this week when then take on Albania and France in their next round of Euro 2020 qualifiers. Senol Gunes’ side will host Albania at the Vodafone Arena on Friday before a trip to Paris to take on the reigning World Champions.
Turkey currently sit at the top of Group H with 15 points after six games, including a shock 2-0 win over France earlier this year. Senol Gunes will now that positive results from their next two games could effectively seal their spot in next June’s competition.
Unfortunately, Turkey’s star forward Cengiz Under misses out with a hamstring injury. The 22-year-old isn’t expected to return to first-team football for Roma until later this month.
Besiktas midfielder Dorukhan Tokoz is also sidelined after picking up a major knee injury.
Leicester City star Caglar Soyuncu has been called up and is likely to be a key name in defence after his impressive start to the season in the Premier League. He is likely to be partnered by Juventus defender Merih Demiral and Lille right-back Mehmet Zeki Celik.
Galatasaray full-back Omer Bayram managed to get called up after entering a rich vein in form at Galatasaray.
France meanwhile are without Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele, Man United midfielder Paul Pogba and Chelsea’s N’Golo Kanté due to injuries.
