Former Republic of Ireland international Tony Cascarino has labelled Everton’s January signing Cenk Tosun as a flop.
Tosun arrived at the Merseyside based club from Besiktas for £26 million in January. The prolific striker has failed to maintain his goal-scoring form since making the move.
Manager Sam Alladyce has opted to drop Tosun to the bench for Everton’s last three games. The 26-year-old is yet to find the back of the net in an Everton jersey.
Cenk did come on during Everton’s defeat at the hands of Watford FC on Saturday. The Turkey international replaced Oumar Niasse in the 57th minute but failed to find an equaliser at Vicarage Road.
During Cascarino’s column in the Times, the former Premier League star criticised Cenk Tosun and questioned whether Sam Allardyce’s will remain as Everton boss for much longer.

“Everton are going in the wrong direction and you have to wonder if Sam Allardyce will still be there next season,” Cascarino told the Times.
“He seemed to change their fortunes initially but they looked way off the pace away to Watford.
“They have an awful away record — winning only once all season and losing four in a row — and the recruitment has been dreadful for some time. Cenk Tosun cost £27 million last month but again started on the bench on Saturday.
“It already looks unlikely that he will make the impact expected.”
Everton are back in action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Burnley FC.
