Liverpool star Emre Can has urged Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze to join Liverpool over the summer.
The Germany international is expected to leave the Bundesliga giants this summer after failing to establish himself as a first-team regular.
“At Bayern he is lacking a bit of confidence which is understandable. A move to Liverpool would be good for Mario,” Can told the German tabloid Bild.
“Klopp has shown this season how much trust he puts in young players. German players are popular in the Premier League.
“The fans would be very happy to see more German players in the Premier League.”
Can has thrived since the appointment of Jurgen Klopp in place of Brendan Rodgers earlier on in the season.
The 22-year-old was previously playing out of position in defence under Rodgers however, since the appointment of Klopp he has been deployed in midfield.
Can was also named as Liverpool’s young player of the season following an impressive season.
