Galatasaray playmaker Wesley Sneijder revealed that he was happy to have ended the 4-1 loss against Arsenal with a goal.
Sneijder scored a brilliant free-kick effort but it only ended up being a consolation goal as Galatasaray suffered their second 4-1 defeat at the hands of Arsenal.
Sneijder Tweeted the following message after the game, “disappointing result for @GalatasaraySK but fortunately ended the game with a nice goal. Now focus on #Superlig.”
The Netherlands international has four goals and one assist in 19 appearances for Galatasaray this season.
Sneijder was wearing the captains armband following the suspension of first-choice captain Selçuk İnan.
Galatasaray finished Champions League Group D in last place on one point following the heavy defeat.
The Lions failed to qualify for the Last 16 for the first time in two seasons.
