Arsenal star becomes first Premier League player to hit 20 million Twitter followers
Arsenal star Mesut Ozil made history today becoming the first Premier League player to hit 20 million Twitter followers.
Ozil thanked his fans on his official Twitter account: “20 Mio. on @Twitter To all who have been following my journey so far , thank you for your continuous support! #TeamOzil.”
The image he shared included his logo and thank you messages in English, German and Turkish.

Ozil has seen his Twitter following surge over the past year. Back in February Rooney had 14.4 million followers compared to Ozil’s 14.3 million.
The playmaker of Turkish origin has since surpassed Rooney.
Ozil now has 31 million Facebook followers, 14.7 million Instagram followers and 20 million Twitter followers giving him a combined social media following of 65 million.
The 29-year-old has by far the biggest social media following in the Premier League.
