Fenerbahce have confirmed that talks between themselves and Valencia are underway.
The Istanbul Giants released a statement on their official website stating that negotiations with the club have begun however, no contract has been made with Sofiane Feghouli yet.
“Speculation about Valencia midfielder Sophiane Feghouli’s transfer fee and transfer news in the media recently are not true,” Fenerbahce’s statement read.
“Our club met with the Valencia board about Feghouli’s transfer. Valencia said they will come back to us after meeting with the player.
“However, there have been no negotiations with the player or his agent yet. According Uefa regulations, it’s an offence to meet with the player prior to meeting with his club.”
Tottenham were also closely linked with the Algeria international by the Daily Star earlier this year. The Premier League club sent scouts to monitor Feghouli’s performances but are yet to table an offer.
Valencia are understood to be holding out for €10 million for their attacking midfielder.
Former United stars Van Persie and Luis Nani both joined the Istanbul giants last month. Also Lille defender Simon Kjaer, 2014-15 Süper Lig top scorer Fernandao, Turkish international Şener Özbayraklı and Brazil international Josef De Souza have also signed over the transfer window.
Fenerbahçe take on Çaykur Rizespor in their second game of the 2015-15 league campaign this weekend.
Feghouli provided eight assists and scored six goals in 33 appearances for Valencia last season.
