Arsenal held CSKA to a 2-2 draw in Russia to progress to the Europa League semi-finals 6-3 on aggregate.
The Gunners came from two goals behind to draw against CSKA and avoid a European competition upset.
Mesut Ozil started for the Gunners after being involved in all four goals in the 4-1 win in the first-leg.
Ozil did not score or add to his goal tally in Russia but did create four goal scoring chances which were all squandered.

This should be made official.
Any player bottling Ozil’s assists should be fined. @Arsenal

The amount of chances he creates compared to how many assists he gets hurts me

Arsenal fans seemed pretty pleased in general with Ozil’s performance.
Feel sorry for Ozil, literally the only one who’s done anything of note.

So Ozil does track back!
Really good tracking back from Ozil to halt a CSKA counter in its tracks. Musa would have been in otherwise.

Ozil the last man in defence during that counter from Moscow. But let’s have the media pundits talk about how he doesn’t track back.
— Wenger Ball (@WengingIt) April 12, 2018
4 times in this game already Ozil has made a solid defensive contribution; and the commentators keep being surprised by it, he does it all the time, he’s always had a good work rate, it’s just lazy commentators watched one game at City away and judged him forever based on that.

Not everyone was pleased with Ozil’s display against CSKA.
Send Ozil to the gulag shameful performance
