Arsenal team news: £42m star suffers yet another injury

Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil has been ruled out of Germany’s clash with Azerbaijan this week.

Ozil has been struggling with a hamstring problem lately. The same issue kept the Germany international out of Arsenal’s 3-1 defeat to West Brom last weekend.

However, Ozil has now suffered a new injury while on international duty. According to Goal, Ozil suffered a back injury during training.

The former Real Madrid star has travelled with the rest of the squad to Baku.

Arsenal fans will be hoping their star man returns in time for their clash with Manchester City next weekend. The Gunners are in desperate need of a result following their previous defeat.

Arsene Wenger’s side are currently in sixth place in the Premier League, six points behind fourth placed Liverpool. The Gunners do however have two games in hand.

Ozil has provided nine assists and scored nine goals in 31 appearances for Arsenal this season. The World Cup winner joined Arsenal from Real Madrid for a club record £42.5 million back in 2013.
