Arsenal transfer news: “We are back on track” Wenger discusses Sanchez and Ozil transfers
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has discussed the transfers of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez in the The Wenger Revolution: Twenty Years of Arsenal book.
The French tactician has stated that the signing of Ozil and Sanchez proves Arsenal are among Europe’s elite.
Sanchez joined the Gunners from Barcelona for £30m (BBC) back in 2014. Ozil made the move to Arsenal from Real Madrid for a club record £42 million (BBC) the previous year.
However, the pair could end up leaving Arsenal this summer as both have a little over 12 months remaining on their contracts.

“Buying Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez – that was not allowed for us seven or eight years ago,” Wenger stated in book The Wenger Revolution: Twenty Years of Arsenal.
“They showed we are back on track. If we find a player we can buy him.
“And if we spend the moment we spend it in the right way, as these are two exceptional players.”
Ozil has been in impressive form of late. The Germany international scored and provided an assist during the Gunners 3-0 win over West Ham.
The 28-year-old is available for tonight’s encounter with London rivals Crystal Palace. The Eagles have won four of their last five Premier League games.
