Beşiktaş goalkeeping coach Jose Sambade vetoed the transfer of Manchester United keeper Victor Valdes according to Fanatik.
The report claims that Sambade convinced the board not to pursue the Spanish international and World Cup winner.
The Black Eagles had reportedly agreed terms to a €1.7 million deal for the United keeper.
The Istanbul giants were expected to sign a keeper over the summer transfer window after losing second-choice keeper Cenk Gönen to Galatasaray.
Beşiktaş were also linked with fellow United keeper Andres Lindegaard but the transfer also feel through after failing to agree terms.
Valdes is expected to leave United over the winter transfer window. The experienced keeper fell out with Louis van Gaal over the summer and has not been given a Premier League shirt.
Valdes was also left out of the Red Devils Champions League squad and is not expected to feature for the Premier League giants this season.
Beşiktaş are currently third in the Süper Lig on six points after two games and are coached by Şenol Güneş.
