Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce are interested in signing Celtic centre-back Dedryck Boyata this summer.
According to the daily Turkish sports paper Fanatik, Fenerbahce tabled an offer for the Belgium international. However, Celtic rejected the Yellow Canaries’ bid.
Per the source, Boyata’s agent Jacques Lichtenstein has confirmed that Fulham, Olympiakos and Fenerbahce have all made offers for the 27-year-old.
Fenerbahce have been searching for a new defender all summer but have so-far been unable to land a new centre-back.
Meanwhile, The Sun reports that Boyata’s agent is unhappy with Celtic for rejecting offers made for Boyata.
“Previously there was interest from Fulham, Olympiakos and Fenerbahce.
“Offers of £7m and £8m – but apparently Celtic is financially strong enough not to go into that.
“It’s strange, because on the other hand, the club apparently does not have the money to make Dedryck a dignified new contract proposal.”
Boyata will be able to leave Celtic for free next summer after entering the final 12 months of his contract.
The Sun goes onto state that the Scottish giants have set a £10 million price-tag on Boyata.
Celtic take on AEK in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League tomorrow evening.
