Chelsea are the latest side to join the race to sign the in-demand AS Roma star Cengiz Under.
Man United, Arsenal and Tottenham have all been linked with a move for the Turkey international over the past month.
However, a source close to the player has revealed to Turkish-Football.com that Chelsea scouts have also been monitoring Under’s progress in recent weeks.
Per the source, Chelsea are planning to strengthen their attacking options and feel Under will fit into manager Mauricio Sarri’s system.
Arsenal recently has a £29 million bid for the former Altinordu star rejected. Roma are understood to be holing out for £50 million. Furthermore, The Serie A giants a keen to keep hold of Under until the end of the season.
Under has cemented his place as a first-team regular at Roma after joining from Basaksehir last year. The Turkish Super Lig side will receive 20 per cent of any transfer fee when Under leaves.
The 21-year-old has racked up six assists and five goals in 20 appearances for Roma so far this season. Roma are back in action this weekend when they take on league leaders Juventus.
Chelsea meanwhile hosts Leicester City at the Stamford Bridge stadium on Saturday.
