Club official confirms Man City sent scout to keep tabs on £20m Newcastle target in record breaking Champions League clash
Manchester City have become the latest club to enter the race for Besiktas star Cenk Tosun.
Besiktas official Ahmet Urkmezgil confirmed that City sent club officials to the Champions League clash against Porto to watch Tosun.
City were among several clubs to send scouts although City were the only side he mentioned in name.

“Manchester City came to watch Cenk Tosun,” Urkmezgil was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.
“I’m still ecstatic from the result so bare with me I can’t remember all the teams who came off the top of my head.”
Urkmezgil did underline that Besiktas president Fikret Orman and head coach Senol Gunes want to keep hold of Tosun until the end of the season at the very least.
“Senol Gunes and Fikret Orman won’t let Cenk leave easily, they want him here this season,” he added.
Turkish-Football recently reported Newcastle United as also being interested in Tosun.
The Magpies have been scouting the Turkish international and are keen on a January move.
Tosun has another two-years remaining on his current contract and is valued as being worth £20 million by his club.
The 26-year-old provided the assist for the Black Eagles equaliser in the 1-1 draw against Porto.

Besiktas made history in the process becoming the first Turkish side to finish the Champions League group stage as leaders.
The Istanbul giants will finish Group G as leaders regardless of what happens on Match Day 6 against Red Bull Leipzig.
Tosun has four goals and two assists in the Champions League this season.
