Emre Can to Man United: Red Devils set to muscle in on transfer of Liverpool star – Euro Giants fear latest development
Liverpool star midfielder Emre Can has been linked with a shock move to the Reds Premier League rivals Manchester United.
The 23-year-old’s future at the Merseyside based club is in doubt after he failed to put pen-to-paper on a contract extension. Can has entered the final five months of his contract and is free to sign a contract with European clubs.
Juventus appear to be front-runners in the race to sign Can, however, according to a report in the Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Man United are also interested in the combative midfielder.
Per the source, Juve are contemplating tabling an improved offer before Man United can muscle in and sign Can.
The Germany international has continued to play a key role on Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side despite the on-going contract saga. Can has made 25 appearances for the Reds in all competitions this season.
Liverpool take on their Merseyside rivals Everton in the FA Cup on Friday evening.
Can won’t do it for the same reason he is leaving LFC-too much competition for starting position. MU midfield is just about similarly crowded with world class talent as LFC. He wants to be “top dog” for a team in midfield, certain starter. Jive offers that.
