Fenerbahce Are Not Targeting Another Goalkeeper Following Altay Bayindir Transfer

Jeremain Lens

Fenerbahce have been linked with several goalkeepers over the past week despite signing 21-year-old Altay Bayindir from Ankaragucu.

A Fenerbahce source informed Turkish-Football that they are no longer looking for a new goalkeeper.

The Yellow-Navy Blues have made signing a new defender and defensive midfielder a priority.

The Yellow Canaries already have Harun Tekin as first-choice keeper and Berke Ozer available.

Additionally, Volkan Demiral could still be offered a new contract.

The Super Lig giants currently have seven goalkeepers in the first team. Abdullah Yigiter and Oytun Ozdogan are likely to play in the U21s next term.

The future of Ozer meanwhile, remains uncertain as the transfer of Bayindir could end up pushing him further down the pecking order.

Kameni still has a year left on his contract but is unlikely to feature.

Ersu meanwhile is currently fourth-choice keeper between Tekin, Bayindir and Ozer.

Ozer could be loaned out next season to gain experience. The highly-rated 19-year-old was signed from Altinordu last summer but made just one appearance last term.
