Kahveci dreams of Manchester United move [divider]
Nineteen-year old Gençlerbirliği attacking-midfielder İrfan Kahveci has revealed that his dream is to play for Manchester United.
“I have always been a Gençlerbirliği fan,” Kahveci said.
“But if I move my goal is to move directly to Europe, my dream is to play for Manchester United. It is more the clubs prestige and history that attracts me not just how much I can make.”
The young midfielder played for the Ankara based sides satellite club Haceteppe last season before being promoted to the senior side.
Kahveci has established himself as a first team regular this season and has four goals and two assists in all competitions.
The 19-year-old has represented the Turkish national team at youth level but has yet to receive a senior cap.
The name Gençlerbirliği actually means, union of youth.
The Ankara based club have a policy on focusing on youth development and giving players raised at the club opportunities.
