Liverpool ace Loris Karius revealed his initial reaction to life in Istanbul in a short interview with football journalist Serhat Demirtas in the Fanatik.
Karius made it clear that he has been enchanted by the Bosphorus and that he has been surprised by the level of interest shown in him, especially by female fans.
Despite most Besiktas players deciding to rent property in the Beykoz Acerkent area Karius is keen on a place with a view of the Bosphorus.
“I love the Bosphorus, I really want to live in a place with a view of the sea,” he said.
Quite frankly I don’t blame him as in my opinion it is also the most picturesque area of the city.
The keeper is expected to move into a place in the Besiktas or Nisantasi area.
Karius has attracted a lot of interest from Besiktas’ female fans as we have reported several times already.
In fact he has been nicknamed ‘Casanova’ as a result.
The 25-year-old is well aware he has been a hit with the ladies.
“I did not have this many fans in England and I can say most seem to be female,” he added.
“Whenever I am out and about in Istanbul whoever recognizes me wants a photograph.”
Karius is on a two-year loan at Besiktas and is currently first-choice keeper for the Istanbul giants.
The Black Eagles will take on Yeni Malatyaspor over the weekend in what will be Karius’ first home game.
