Fenerbahce are losing hope in their quest to sign Colombia international defender Yerry Mina this summer
A source close to Fenerbahce has revealed to Turkish-Football that the Istanbul giants have begun looking for alternative targets after the Barcelona defender’s impressive performances at the World Cup.
Per the source, club officials feel the cost of signing Mina will be too high due to the attention he has attracted.
Mina became the first defender to score in his first three World Cup matches.
Mina has attracted the attention of clubs across Europe – including Liverpool – following his displays in Russia. The towering defender scored against England during their defeat to the Three-Lions on Tuesday night.
The daily Turkish newspaper Fotomac recently reported that Mina is on Liverpool’s radar.
The Reds are reportedly ‘weighing up’ a move for Colombia’s World Cup 2018 star.
The report goes onto state that Barca are open to offloading Mina this summer in order to free up a non-EU spot in their squad.
