Liverpool Star Completes Super Lig Move But Contrasting Figures Being Reported

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has completed his move to Besiktas on a two-year loan according to the Fanatik sports newspaper.

Per the source, it is already a done deal but the figures being quoted differ from that in the English media.

Fanatik claim that the Reds will receive a £1.8M [€2m] loan fee and that Karius will earn £1.2m [€1.4m] per-season.

The report did not mention a buy-out option either.

The Echo meanwhile report that Liverpool could earn a total of £9.5million for the keeper.

The Reds have reportedly agreed to an initial two-year loan with Besiktas who will pay a loan fee of £2.25million.

The report states: “The Black Eagles are obligated to buy the keeper for a further £7.25million in 2020 if certain performance criteria are met.

“These are related to appearances and Besiktas qualifying for Europe.

“Liverpool will also have a 20% sell on clause if the deal becomes permanent.”

Besiktas have yet to announce the transfer. The club would be obliged to release a statement on the stock exchange ahead of the transfer being completed.

Karius will join Besiktas as a first-choice option in goal should the transfer end up going ahead.

The keeper travelled to London for the Monday night clash against Crystal Palace but was not a part of Jurgen Klopp’s matchday squad.

Should Karius end up joining Besiktas he would sign a one-year contract extension with the Reds first with an option to extend for a second year if he returns for the 2020-21 season.

The German keeper’s current contract runs until June 2021.
