Liverpool star midfielder Emre Can has revealed which teams he wants to avoid in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
The 24-year-old started for the Reds last night and was replaced in the 80th minute by Ragnar Klavan.
Liverpool held Porto to a 0-0 draw securing their passage to the quarterfinals.
Following the game, Emre Can spoke with reporters and spoke about the next stage of the competition. The Germany international stated that he would like to avoid playing a Premier League side.
“I think you are wrong if you play a Champions League game and you don’t find motivation,” Can was quoted as saying by the Express.
“I think it was OK, we did our job and we are through the round.
“I prefer to not play an English team, but I don’t care who.”
Can has remained a key member of Jurgen Klopp’s starting eleven despite the ongoing contract saga.
The 24-year-old has under three months left on his contract with the Merseyside based club and could end up leaving Liverpool for free in the summer.
Liverpool are back in action this weekend when they take on Manchester United in the Premier League.
