Serie A giants AC Milan have joined the race to sign Liverpool forward Divock Origi.
Despite scoring the winning goal in the Merseyside derby earlier this month, Origi is still expected to leave Liverpool in January.
The Belgium international has struggled for playing time under Jurgen Klopp this season and has just 72 minutes of Premier League football under his belt.
Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray have been closely linked with a move Origi in recent weeks. The Lions are keen on signing the 23-year-old on loan however, Liverpool want to sell him on a permanent deal.
According to the Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are keen to reinforce their attack in January. Per the source, Origi is on their transfer shortlist along with Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford and Sampdoria’s Fabio Quagliarella.
Galatasaray are also desperate to bolster their attacking options next month. The Lions sold their top goalscorer Bafetemi Gomis over the summer and filed to bring in a replacement.
The Lions have subsequently struggled both domestically and in the UEFA Champions League.
Origi spent last season out on loan with Bundesliga side VFL Wolfsburg. However, he only managed to net six goals in 31 league games.
