Man City team news: Pep Guardiola facing injury crisis ahead of Swansea clash
Manchester City take on Swansea City this week as the look to extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League.
Pep Guardiola’s side sit in pole position with a staggering 46 points after 16 games. To put that in perspective, Southampton finished the 2017-18 season in eight place with 46 points.
City have recorded 15 wins and one draw so far and know a win on Wednesday night against the Swans could see their lead expand to 14 points.
Swansea City meanwhile recorded a much-needed win over the weekend but still find themselves in the relegation zone.
Man City team news:
Manager Pep Guardiola is facing an injury crisis in defence. Belgium international Vincent Kompany suffered another injury setback during the Manchester derby and was forced off at half time.
Meanwhile both John Stones and Benjamin Mendy are still out meaning Guardiola may be forced into starting Fernandinho at centre-back.
Germany international Ilkay Gundogan could feature once again in midfield, the 26-year-old came on in the second half against Man United on Sunday.
