Man City transfer news: Newcastle join race for in-demand star midfielder – Euro giants also interested
Newcastle United have joined in on the race to sign Man City playmaker Yaya Toure.
According to the Daily Star, Magpies boss Rafa Benitez is keen to sign the Ivory Coast international.
Per the source, Toure in uncertain regarding his future at Man City. The 33-year-old was left out of City’s Champions League squad earlier this season but has regained his place in the team in recent weeks.

The Daily Star goes onto state that Toure wants assurances that he will be a first-team player.
The promise of first team football is something Galatasaray are hoping to use in a bid to convince Toure to move to Istanbul. The Turkish outlet Fanatik state that Toure is Galatasaray’s primary target ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
Meanwhile, the Sun states that Pep Guardiola is keen to keep Toure for another season.
The former Barcelona star has registered three assists and scored six goals in 28 appearances for Man City this term. The Citizens side are currently fourth in the Premier League with 39 points after 35 games.
