Manchester United have joined Fenerbahce in the hunt for the Algerian international midfielder Sofiane Feghouli.
The Italian sports website Calciomercato states that Manchester United will offer the Valencia player a contract in January. Feghouli’s deal with his current club expires at the end of the season meaning he will be able to hold talks with any club in the new year.
The Algerian international wants a salary increase, but Los Che are reluctant to match his demands.
Tottenham were also closely linked with the Algeria international by the Daily Star earlier this year. The Premier League club sent scouts to monitor Feghouli’s performances but are yet to table an offer. Valencia are understood to be holding out for €10 million for their attacking midfielder.
Former United stars Van Persie and Luis Nani both joined the Fenerbahce last month. Also Lille defender Simon Kjaer, 2014-15 Süper Lig top scorer Fernandao, Turkish international Şener Özbayraklı and Brazil international Josef De Souza have also signed over the transfer window.
Feghouli provided eight assists and scored six goals in 33 appearances for Valencia last season.
