Newcastle United have stepped up their efforts to sign Cape Verde international Garry Rodrigues.
According to the Turkish outlet Aksam, Newcastle officials are already in talks with Galatasaray over a summer deal to sign the Dutch-born winger.
Per the source, Galatasaray are only willing to sell their star man for the right price and have set a €20 million price-tag on Rodrigues.
The report also states that Newcastle United are trying to negotiate a lower price. However, Galatasaray are refusing to budge as they will need to forward 20% of the transfer fee to the Greek Superleague side PAOK.
Aksam goes on to say that negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing.
Rodrigues played a key role during Galatasaray’s title-winning season. The star winger established himself as a first-team regular following Fatih Terim’s appointment.
The 27-year-old provided an impressive 11 assists and nine goals in 33 appearances for Galatasaray this season.
