The central midfielder of Turkish origin may end up facing Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
Can revealed that he is not intimidated by the prospect of having to defend against the Balon d’Or 2016 winner.
In fact Can revealed that nobody in the Germany team fears Ronaldo despite scoring 55 goals in 54 matches for club and country this season.
“Nobody is scared of Ronaldo. “Obviously he is a world-class player, but nobody is afraid of him,” Can was quoted as saying by Eurosport.
Ronaldo has been in great form at the Confederations Cup scoring two in three games and being named man of the match in all of Portugal’s matches so far.
Can is likely to start against Mexico in Sochi on Thursday.
The 23-year-old is one of two Turkish origin players left in the tournament – the other being Germany’s Kerem Demirbay.
Congratulations. Cutest looking baby I’d say. Enjoy the fun.
