Besiktas’ female supporter base will increase if they managed to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius according to the prominent Turkish football pundit Mehmet Demirkol.

Speaking on the Turkish Super Lig broadcaster’s channel BeIN Turkey, Demirkol revealed his opinion on reports linking Karius with a £10 million move to Besiktas.

“I expect the number of female fans in the stands to increase,” Demirkol humorously stated on BeIn Sport.

Demirkol went onto heap praise on Karius and has tipped the Germany U21 international to succeed in Istanbul.

“He is a good goalkeeper, I have no doubt.

“Karius will be joining the right club to rehabilitate his career. I expect the Besiktas fans to show him a lot of support.

“But he will need to get over his self-confidence issues since the Champions League final.”

Karius has been tipped to leave Liverpool following the signing of Alisson from AS Roma earlier this summer.

The German was Liverpool’s first-goalkeeper last season however, his stock plummeted following a disastrous UEFA Champions League final performance.

Karius has not included in Monday nights Liverpool squad which defeated Crystal Palace by a 1-0 scoreline.

Besiktas have been on the hunt for a new goalkeeper ever since selling Fabri to Fulham for £5.3m last month.

Liverpool are back in action this weekend when they they host Brighton at Anfield.
