‘We signed him for big games not tinpot ones’ – Fans respond on social media to Arsenal FC asking for opinion on Mesut Ozil
Arsenal returned to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Bournemouth at the Emirates on Sunday.
Mesut Ozil started for the Gunners and despite not scoring or providing an assist he did put on an impressive display.
Ozil had come under fire for his form over recent weeks so the victory lifted some weight off his shoulders.
Arsenal were quick to promote Ozil’s display on social media and asked the fans what they thought of his performance.
The twitter experiment received a mixed reaction.

A few fans found it strange that they were being asked about Ozil’s display against Bournemouth but not the performance against Liverpool last week.
We signed him for big games not tinpot ones

Not all fans were as cynical, there were a lot of supporters that backed the playmaker of Turkish origin.
Although didn’t record an assist, created a lot of chances and controlled the play

Even Ozil’s defensive play received praise!
Best defensive performance from him in an Arsenal shirt. Made a huge difference in keeping team’s shape and pressing opponents. Well done.

We even found out that Ozil isn’t actually slow!
These were tough to predict ?
