“So naive, so nonchalant” – Watford FC star launches scathing attack on Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil following 2-1 win
Watford FC pulled off one of the upsets of the weekend with a 2-1 victory over Arsenal.
Marco Silva’s side are performing well beyond pre-season expectations and find themselves in fourth place in the Premier League with 15 points after eight games.
The Hornets came back from 1-0 down to stage a second half come-back at Vicarage road with the equalising goal coming from Troy Deeney.
Deeney went onto slam Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil during an interview after the game. The 29-year-old – who is yet to lift any silverware in his career – accused Ozil of being too passive and lacking a clinical edge.

“I don’t think there are many teams, top teams, that had the chance Ozil had and be so naive, so nonchalant with it,” Deeney stated live on BT Sport.
“Wrighty [Ian Wright] doesn’t miss those, Thierry [Henry] doesn’t miss those.
“It’s ruthlessness. I think it starts from behind them, if they would have missed it when you boys [Martin Keown] were playing, you’d be like “hey, finish that”.
Ozil started Saturday’s clash on the bench and came on in the second half in place of an injured Danny Welbeck.
Arsenal will be looking to return to winning ways when they take on Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League on Thursday evening. The Gunners take on an out-of-form Everton this weekend.
