Sevilla have confirmed their interest in Celtic’s in-demand centre-back Dedryck Boyata.
We recently reported that Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce have also been linked with a move for the Belgium international.
Boyata Celtic future appears to be in doubt after failing to put pen-to-paper on a new contract.
The 27-year-old, who has under 12 months remaining on his contract, was criticised by manager Brendan Rodgers for not making himself available for last week’s Champions League clash with AEK.
Speaking to the Spanish outlet Marca, Sevilla director of football Joaquin Caparros admitted that they have been monitoring Boyata while stating that they are in no rush to sign the defender.
“Boyata is one of those players that we have been following for a long time,” Caparros told the Spanish outlet Marca
“Defence is an area we need to reinforce.
“We must proceed calmly because there are many factors with a transfer that doesn’t just depend on ourselves.
“The squad is balanced and impressive, but maybe there is something missing and we will try to address that.”
The Sun have also linked Sevilla with a £10 million move for Boyata.
Fenerbahce are also keen on bolstering their defensive options over the summer after Luis Neto’s loan deal expired.
Boyata provided three assists and scored three goals in 39 appearances for Celtic last season.
The Scotish Champions are back in action this week when they take on FK Suduva in the Europa League play-off round.
