Tolga Zengin – Beşiktaş: Zengin kept his second consecutive clean sheet of the season making important saves to prevent Başakşehir scoring. The Turkish international keeper had a few shaky moments dealing with aerial balls but overall was a safe pair of hands.

Cavanda – Trabzonspor: Cavanda tormented Kayserispor going forwards and used his pace to great effect in tracking back. The Belgium international made the most tackles (5) and the highest number of successful dribbles (3) over the course of the 90 minutes illustrating how important he was in both defence and attack.

Omeruo – Kasımpaşa: Omeruo made the highest number of interceptions in the game (7) and dealt well with aerial balls making a total of five clearances. Kasımpaşa dropped into 6th place in the league following the 1-0 defeat against Fenerbahçe but have the joint best defensive record having conceded just two goals.

Ersan Gülüm – Beşiktaş: The Australian born centre-back was solid in the Beşiktaş defence winning all his aerial duals and passing the ball out well from defence.

Josef de Souza – Fenerbahçe: Brazil international Josef de Souza scored his first goal since joining the Yellow Canaries from Sao Paulo over the summer transfer.  The goal was enough to secure Fenerbahçe all three points in the mini-Istanbul derby. De Souza was the man of the match according to Whoscored making the highest number of tackles (6) and interceptions (3) for his team over the course of the 90 minutes.

Gökhan Töre – Beşiktaş: Töre tormented the Kasımpaşa defence providing the most key passes (5) and the highest number of successful dribbles (4) over the course of the 90 minutes. The Turkish intentional setup Mario Gomez for his brace and now has the most assists in the league (4).

Nani – Fenerbahçe: Nani provided his second assists since joining Fenerbahçe from Manchester United. The Portuguese international setup Josef de Souza from the corner spot on 53 minutes in what proved to be the deciding goal.

Marin – Trabzonspor: Marin was brought on in the second half but transformed the Black Sea Storm’s attack providing additional pace and trickery down the wing. His assist wasn’t half bad either. The 26th man to leave Chelsea on loan will be hoping for his first start next week after an impressive performance.

Dzsudzsak – Bursaspor:  Summer signing Balázs Dzsudzsák singlehandedly ended the crocodile tears at Bursa. The Hungarian international scored twice and provided an assist for what turned out to be the winning goal. The Green Crocodiles won their first game of the season beating Gençlerbirliği 3-2.

Mario Gomez – Beşiktaş: Social media was awash with German tank memes following Gomez’s blitzkrieg on the Başakşehir defence. The powerful striker proved too much to handle for Başakşehir and scored twice – could easily have score double as well.

Samuel Eto’o – Antalyaspor: Anybody who thought Eto’o joined Antalyaspor for a holiday have been made to eat their words as the striker scored his fifth goal in the 2-0 win over Eskişehirspor. Eto’o also took the pre-match motivational talk, rallied his teammates throughout the game and has been acting as a makeshift player-manager so far this season. He even headed off the Milan after the game for a bit of talent spotting at the big derby.
