Tottenha’s latest signing Son Heung-min regrets has stated that he was saddend by the way he departed Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.
The Korean international was involved with a spat with Hakan Çalhanoğlu after joining the North London based side.
“It’s sad that Calhanoglu said that and that we are bickering. Since I didn’t say goodbye to the Leverkusen coaching staff and players in person, I will try to visit the team in the near future,” Son told the Korea Joongang Daily.
Çalhanoğlu joined Bayer on a €15 million move for HSV Hamburg last summer despite his former club wanting him to stay on.
Leverkusen secured a place in the Champions League group stages yesterday after beating Lazio 3-1 on aggregate. The Turkish international scored the opening goal against the Serie A outfit.
The Turkish international already has two goals to his name this season, the free-kick master scored his 22nd set-piece goal against Hannover 96 last month.
Çalhanoğlu is expected to start against the newly promoted Darmstadt 98 next on 12 September in the Bundesliga.
