Hakan Calhanoglu – AC Milan

Calhanoglu’s assist for Tiemoue Bakayoko was not enough to prevent a 2-3 home defeat against bitter rivals Inter Milan in the derby on Sunday. The Turkey international is starting to take on the talismanic role he had at Bayer Leverkusen. Pretty much every attacking move involves him, he takes most set-pieces and has been pulling the strings in midfield.

Ozan Kabak – Stuttgart

The man mountain Kabak was directly involved in Steven Zuber’s opening goal, splitting the Hoffenheim defence wide open with a delightful through ball to Andreas Beck who provided the assist. Kabak also defended well throughout the game. It is difficult to believe he’s just 18-years-old at times.

Merih Demiral – Sassuolo

When a team conceded five goals in a single game there is not a lot one can praise defensively. Sampdoria beat Sassuolo 5-3 on the road over the weekend. Demiral made more tackles (3) and clearances (8) than any other player in his team but he will be disappointed by the scoreline. Let’s hope the 21-year-old grows from the experience.

Kaan Ayhan – Fortuna Duesseldorf

Ayhan scored the opening goal but Fortuna Duesseldorf ended up being soundly beat 5-2 by Wolfsburg.

Ahmet Kutucu – Schalke

The 19-year-old striker has impressed me whenever given playing time this season. He caused Leipzig all sorts of problems with his pace, power and technical ability. Schalke lost the game 1-0 but they are have gained a striker who could go onto achieve greatness. In my opinion he should already be called up to the senior Turkish national side.
