Arsenal legend Robert Pires stated that Mesut Özil has started to prove his critics wrong and that he was the man of the match in the 4-1 win over Liverpool in the Premier League last weekend.
“For me, the man of the match was Mesut Ozil,” Pires told the Arsenal Magazine.
“And I am so glad that he proved his critics wrong.”

The 26-year-old scored a free-kick in the Gunners 4-1 win over Liverpool at the Emirates.
Özil completed the highest amount of key passes in the game (3) and maintained a passing accuracy of 90.4%.
The 26-year-old has received a rating of 8.68 for his performance against Liverpool by Whoscored.
Özil has come under fire from sections of the press and fans this season but the tide has been turning recently as prominent pundits including Jamie Redknapp have come out in support of the World Cup winner.
The 26-year-old has been in impressive form since returning from a three-month spell on the sidelines.
Özil has a total of four goals and four assists in 15 appearances for Arsenal.
