Arsenal star Mesut Özil has received a hard time from sections of the press. The World Cup winner has been criticised with everything from poor body language to his languid playing style but the stats paint a different picture.
Özil was recently praised by former Liverpool player and football pundit Jamie Redknapp who stated that the 26-year-old sets up a goal every 241.9 minutes in the Premier League – the seventh-best tally in the leagues history.

The 26-year-old was also recently found to have actually been the hardest working player in the Arsenal team in terms of distance covered since returning from injury according to the Telegraph.
Özil was recently found to be the second best performing attacking midfielder in Europe in 2015 by the CIES Football Observatory’s latest performance rankings.
Arsenal defeated Liverpool by a 4-1 scoreline in the Premier league last weekend. Özil scored a well placed free-kick in the first half and was once again one of Arsenal’s top performers.
