Arsenal made a return to Unai Emery’s starting eleven on Sunday afternoon for the Gunners victory over Cardiff City.
The North London based club came away with all three points following a 3-2 victory over the newly promoted side.
Ozil missed last weekend’s clash against West Ham United after picking up an illness. Despite rumours of a bust-up, Ozil returned to training and regained his place in Emery’s starting eleven.
The 29-year-old made a comfortable start to the game and helped his side maintain possession of the ball. The former Germany international was often the link between midfield and Lacazette when Arsenal launched counterattacks.
Ozil played a key role in the lead up to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s goal in the second half.

Overall the former Real Madrid ace worked hard and created openings for his side. He played 84 minutes before being substituted off by the Spanish tactician.
Ozil made maintained a passing accuracy of 84% and made one key pass. The playmaker had a total is 58 touches on the ball.
Arsenal are back in action on September 15 against Newcastle United.
