Arsenal transfer news: Gunners on red alert as Barcelona ace plans January exit
Arsenal have renewed their interest in out-of-favour Barcelona winger Arda Turan.
The 30-year-old hasn’t played a minute of football for Barca under the newly appointed Ernesto Valverde this season and is planning a move away from the club in January.
According to the Sun, Arsenal are monitoring the situation but are likely to face competition from Galatasaray.
The Gunners are on the lookout for new attacking midfielders with both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil linked with moves away from the Emirates.
The duo have under nine months remaining on their contracts with Arsenal.

Arda Turan failed to impress during Turkey’s humiliating 3-0 defeat at the hands of Iceland on Friday evening. The experienced midfielder is an unpopular figure in Turkey which could sway him towards a move to Europe over Galatasaray.
Ahead of his match against Iceland clash, Turan spoke about his banishment from the Barcelona first team.
“It has been a while since I played and it is not easy. It means games become as much a mental question as a physical one,” Turan told reporters.
“I want to do what the coach asks of me and form a part of a historic day like this one.”
fed up with this tired old rumour for some old boy – never in a million years.
