Besiktas has confirmed the sale of their star defender Dusco Tosic. The Serbia international put pen-to-paper on a move to Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande.
Besiktas released a statement to the Istanbul stock exchange confirming the transfer. The move will earn the Black Eagles an impressive €5 million. Besiktas signed Tosic on a free transfer from Genclerbirligi back in 2015.
The 33-year-old played a starring role during Besiktas’ UEFA Champions League run to the Last 16 where they were eliminated by Bayern Munich.

Tosic provided one assist and scored five goals in 36 appearances for Besiktas this season. The experienced defender was expected to leave the Istanbul giants following their January signing of Domagoj Vida from Dynamo Kyiv.
Besiktas currently find themselves in fourth spot in the Turkish Super Lig with 68 points after 33 games. The Black Eagles have dropped out of the title race but do maintain the chance of a second place finish if they defeat Sivasspor on Saturday.
