Emre Can has stated that the former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers played him out of position.
Rodgers played Emre Can predominately on the right side of back three and at right back.
Jurgen Klopp has moved the 21-year-old into his natural position since being appointed.
“He’s [Klopp] something else. I was playing out of position under Brendan Rodgers,” Can told Kicker.
“But now I’m playing in a position that I’m much more used to. I feel I can impact a game easier in midfield.”
Can has also played as a full-back for the Germany national team since making his international debut earlier in the season.
The 21-year-old is one of three ethnic Turks in the current German national team setup with the other two being Arsenal star Mesut Özil and Borussia Dortmund midfielder İlkay Gündoğan.
Liverpool take on the in-form Leicester City on Boxing Day. Can has one assist and one goal in 24 appearances for Liverpool this season.
