Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has stated that he rates Arsenal’s star playmaker Mesut Ozil as a better ‘no.10’ than Eden Hazard.
The Portuguese coach underlined that he demands his number 10’s are hard working both offensively and defensively.
“For me a number 10 does a lot of things, with the ball and without the ball. So for me a number 10 is a very special player in my team,” Mourinho was quoted as saying in the Telegraph.
“Sneijder and Deco were the best I had. Ozil was very good.”
According to the Telegraph, when asked whether Hazard could be that kind of No. 10, Mourinho responded: “I don’t think so.”
Mesut Ozil has been in an impressive run of form lately which includes goals against Bayern Munich and Manchester United. The 27-year-old also scored in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Norwich over the weekend.
The North London based side looked set to record a comfortable victory however, the Canaries managed to level the score before half-time. The Gunners were unable to to find the winning goal meaning they were unable to capitalise on Manchester United’s draw with Leicester City.
There was yet more disappointment as Alexis Sanchez picked up what looked to be a hamstring injury. Laurent Koscielny also came off injured to add to Arsenal’s injury woes.
