Chelsea Defender Baba Rahman Set To Complete Move To Turkey After Terminating Schalke Loan

Goztepe have made an offer to Chelsea to loan defender Baba Rahman sources at the Izmir based club told Turkish-Football.

The Super Lig side are negotiating terms with Rahman’s representatives after being given the green light by the Blues.

Goztepe are confident that Rahman will join before the end of the transfer window following successful initial talks.

The Yellow-Reds are prepared to cover his wages and offer a first-team role for the remainder of the season.

Contrary to reports in Turkey the transfer has yet to be completed yet.

Rahman had his loan contract at Schalke terminated after struggling for playing time, making just four appearances in all competitions.

The Bundesliga outfit saw no future for Rahman and sent him back to Chelsea.

The 24-year-old has struggled with injuries spending a lengthy spell on sidelines with a cruciate ligament injury.

Blues manager Maurizio Sarri does not however, have plans for the Ghana international and has sanctioned another loan exit.

Chelsea loaned Kenneth Omeruou and Marko Marin to the Super Lig over recent years but do not have a player in Turkey this term.

Goztepe head into the second half of the season in 10th place on 22 points.

The Izmir based team take on Malatyaspor away from home on 19 January next.
