Germany crashed out of the World Cup after losing 2-0 against South Korea in their final Group F game.
The defending champions failed to make it out of the group stage for the first time since 1938.
As we have come to expect, Arsenal star Mesut Ozil took a lot of the blame.
Ozil really steps up for the big occasions, doesn’t he… pic.twitter.com/YuVW8aGxcb

Germany with Ozil: 2 Losses.
Germany without Ozil: 1 win.
Take that how you will.

I SAY AGAIN. OZIL IS A GARBAGE.

Ozil started against South Korea after being dropped against Sweden.
Germany were not at their best but Ozil actually performed pretty well creating an impressive seven goal scoring chances from open play, none of which were converted.
Arsenal fans were not having it and rallied behind their star man pointing out that he was actually one of the best players on the field for Germany.

Do you think Ozil is being used as a scapegoat? personally, I think the German defence let the side down.
Mesut Ozil created SEVEN chances, made more successful dribbles that any other #Ger player, completed 94 passes with 85% accuracy but they’ll tell you he’s the reason Germany are out the #WorldCup ?

Feel really sad for Mesut Ozil, high chance this is his last World Cup. On the other hand, I’m also happy that he will join us early for pre-season.

– Mesut Ozil created seven chances against South Korea (All from open play) 7⃣
– The most by any player in a single game at the 2018 World Cup so far. ?
… Guess who’s going to get the blame for Germany’s exit 🙂 ?♂️#WorldCup pic.twitter.com/0d7De5PS4p

Of course, despite Jogi Low’s disastrous selection and tactics, Neuer’s clownish goalkeeping and Muller’s no-show, you just know #GER media is gonna blame this catastrophe on… Ozil’s body language and whicever of the players they don’t regard as German/white enough.

So the Germans are out. Ozil is a World Cup winner anyway. He’s heading home to kiss his World Cup winner’s medal.

Ozil putting chances on a plate for Germany, what more could he do
— Next Generation AFC?⚪️ (@scoutingindoors) June 27, 2018
What the hell was Mesut Ozil doing so far out of his goal?
— Daily Cannon (@DailyCannon) June 27, 2018
If Mesut Ozil is singled out after this then it’s nothing other than malice.
— Daily Cannon (@DailyCannon) June 27, 2018
Cue Özil to be the scapegoat once again #GER #WorldCup
— Will Dowie (@WillDowie) June 27, 2018
Now people are turning to a silent @MesutOzil1088 to blame him for Germany’s early exit from the #WorldCup
First and foremost, Germany weren’t sharp on goal today; Gomez & Hummels missed good chances as they both headed over the bar. So please don’t scapegoat my Ozil today pic.twitter.com/9fU16tp136

Mesut Ozil created seven chances against South Korea – all from open play; the most by any player in a single game at the 2018 World Cup so far.
If I was Mesut Ozil I would now retire from international football. They doesn’t deserve him
— ოპოɀ ℹ (@Durchiga) June 27, 2018
No goals to show for it. Yet he’s the one who always gets targeted. ?
— TheArseneView (@TheArseneView) June 27, 2018
If u blame Ozil for this loss, u are very stupid and u have me to tell you
— Abimbola (@Bimzee_) June 27, 2018
Every cloud has a silver lining.
The last and only time Mesut Ozil had a proper preseason with Arsenal, he scored 6 and assisted 19 in the PL alone…
— LTArsenal™ (@ltarsenal) June 27, 2018
Sorry Germany but I’m actually glad Ozil will now go home to relax and recover for next season’s Premier League #afc #WorldCup
