Emre Can has to be more disciplined according to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp stated that the 21-year-old must know when to sit back and hold his position in a game and that he will try to help the young midfielder.
“Emre is a young lad, he’s full of emotion and everything but when you are tired in a game, then if you cannot make the way back, please don’t make the way forward,” Klopp told the Daily Mail.
Can played a staring role in Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Manchester City in the Premier League over the weekend.
The Germany international played in midfield and received a rating of 7.39 from Whoscored. The box-to-box midfielder made two key passes and maintained a passing accuracy of 69%. Can has scored one goal in 18 appearances for Liverpool this season.
Liverpool moved up to ninth place with 20 points in 13 games following the victory over City.
Klopp’s side take on Bordeaux in the Europa League on Thursday and host Swansea City at Anfield next weekend.
